Shout out to my readers (do I really have any regular readers?),,
How do you manage songs on the iPhone (3G)?
I make a playlist and then drag the playlist onto my iPhone, to manage my music that way, but when I add songs to the playlist, it won’t automatically sync like that
I have to redrag the playlist to my iPhone. Anyone got it working similarly or what method do you use to manage your music?

Random picture!
Anyway -
I have an app idea. Definitely should be free (maybe ads cause I don’t mind ads but ads bring in money to poor computer programmers / developers – OK, so maybe my views are biased as a computer programmer / developer myself).
Stickies App (I will be reviewing this soon) got me thinking about this. When iPhone gets locked I want a screenshot one second before it locks to be what I see if I am about to unlock my iPhone.
That’s it.

I really want these, but they’re too expensive, y’know?
If you look at the bottom of the page of the link above, you’ll see that it says that these earphones are compatible with iPod touch, iPod classic, and nano (for recording memo/mic functions). It doesn’t work on the iPhone????? I’d like to believe its cause there are free recording apps on there but that applys to iPod touches too so….
*** These comments from Engadgeters clarified things up nicely.

If you have jailbroken your iPhone, I suggest getting “Stacks” from Cydia (shown above).
If you have 4 or less applications in the “Stacks folder”, then you get the [curved] Fan view that was introduced in Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard.
When you ‘add apps” to the stacks folder, what you’re actually doing is just creating a shortcut, so you still have the original app on one of the Read the rest of this entry »

You’re typing on your iPhone and eventually you’re going to have to type in a number. Switching between he letters and numbers keyboards can be such a hassle.
Most favorite tip: when you’re going to enter in one number or other character, just press, hold, and drag your finger.
In case that wasn’t clear, press the numbers button to switch to the other keyboard with numbers and symbols, but don’t lift your finger after you press the button. Just wait (not even a second) for the other keyboard with numbers to show, and then drag your finger to your desired number of symbol.
When you take our finger off the numbers button, the keyboard will have switched to the standard qwerty keyboard.

The iPhone camera is riddled with inadequacies starting with the lack of any auto-focus and continuing on to the lack of any digital zoom at all.
Jailbreak your iPhone.
The digital zoom problem is taken care of with the Snapture app. To zoom on Snapture, simply pinch the screen to zoom in/out. To take a picture, just tap on the main screen.
This is where I inadvertently ran across the solution to taking up-close photos (of say, a paper, writing, etc). Because the iPhone only starts focusing at least half a meter of so, when you are taking up-close photos, bring the camera as far from what you are taking a picture of. Then, use the digital zoom to get a focused, clear photo of something up-close.

When you are first taking pictures of yourself with the iPhone, it may seem very difficult to take pictures of yourself. I mean, there’s no physical button which makes it so hard to press it.
That’s how it seems to be…but…
