iPhone Tip a Day

Posted on: November 28, 2008

If you have jailbroken your iPhone, I suggest getting “Stacks” from Cydia (shown above).

If you have 4 or less applications in the “Stacks folder”, then you get the [curved] Fan view that was introduced in Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard.

When you ‘add apps” to the stacks folder, what you’re actually doing is just creating a shortcut, so you still have the original app on one of the 9 home screens.

The only qualm I have about this app is that the stacks folder doesn’t actually up the space of an app, which mean that you have to hide an app behind the stacks, and that you can’t move the stacks anywhere you want. :\
~ oh well.

To add, just hold down finger on any app to start the jitterin’ then drag an app to the stacks then drag away. Similarly, to remove, just drag an app in the stacks to a position on the home screen and the stacks will give a quick “poof” then the app will no longer be there.

Definitely recommended but its not perfect.
